First, the original clearance
The original clearance is determined by the fabrication and assembly of the manufacturer, and refers to the clearance of the bearing in its natural state before mounting.
Second, install clearance
Installation clearance, also known as matching clearance, is the clearance when the bearing is installed with the shaft and housing, but the work has not started. Due to interference mounting, the inner ring is enlarged, the outer ring is reduced, or both, and the installation clearance is smaller than the original clearance.
Third, working clearance
Operating clearance is the clearance of a bearing in the operating condition. Due to the maximum temperature rise and thermal expansion of the inner ring when the bearing is working, the bearing clearance is reduced; At the same time, due to the load, elastic deformation occurs at the contact between the rolling element and the raceway, which increases the bearing clearance. Based on these two effects, whether the bearing operating clearance will be larger or smaller than the mounting clearance depends on the specific situation.
Suitable mounting clearance for rolling bearings helps the bearings to work properly and prolong bearing service life. If the clearance is too small, the temperature of the rolling bearing rises, it cannot work normally, so that the rolling element is stuck; The clearance is too large, the equipment vibration is large, and the rolling bearing noise is large.
