Under the action of periodic loads, SKF bearings are prone to fatigue failure, that is, cracking and spalling, which is the main form of bearing damage. Therefore, in order to increase the service life of the bearing, the bearing steel must have a high contact fatigue strength. When SKF bearings are in operation, not only rolling friction occurs between rings, rolling elements and cages, but also sliding friction, resulting in constant wear of bearing parts. In order to reduce the wear of bearing parts, maintain bearing accuracy and stability, and prolong service life, bearing steel should have good wear resistance.

If the relative tilt of the inner and outer rings is too large, SKF bearings can cause damage due to internal loads. Therefore, a bearing type that can withstand this tilt should be selected.

The limiting speed of bearings whose speed can adapt to mechanical speed is not only determined by the bearing type but also limited to bearing size, cage type, accuracy class, load conditions and lubrication method, so these factors must be considered when choosing. The following rolling bearings are mostly used for high-speed rotation: deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings.
